Wow!

Only a week left before we open, that time has flown. I think we are all on track, I think! Our coffee machine arrives this weekend, all the way from Italy, so I’m very excited about that, we will truly be a coffee shop once that baby is in!!

My brother made us our booths before he flew off to Australia, so thank you Joseph, he was still in his work clothes half an hour before he left to get the bus! I demand total dedication obviously, but the finished product is worth it. Shane is busy making tables and table legs. There are a few hidden bogbean flowers on a couple of those table legs, stunning.

Our rooms are all finished, save a few minor adjustments and are looking beautiful. I must stop gazing out the windows at the view, must continue cleaning toilets! The glamourous life for me. I’ve had my poor mother worked to the bone, we are now at the last looks stage which is such a relief. She has been such an amazing support.

Starting a new business is quite a daunting task. There is an awful lot more than that whimsical “We’re going to open a cafe” idea we had all those months ago. It’s exciting, it’s scary and the unknown is the unknown. I think we have put in a good effort so far, Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

The Bogbean Cafe and B&B is located right in the heart of the village with views overlooking the mountains and the bay. Our luxurious rooms are all ensuite with tea and coffee making facilities.

All of our rooms have double beds and three of our rooms also have single beds. Our rooms feature bespoke furniture designed and produced locally in the village by Beola Crafts.one of the rooms is furnished with a four-post king sized bed and all of the rooms have free WiFi access.

Parking is provided in a gated public carpark adjacent to the Cafe/B&B along with a public playground and picnic area. The Bogbean Cafe and B&B is within an easy walk of the waters edge, shops, pubs and restaurants of Roundstone providing an excellent location from which to base your stay in Roundstone.

Rates:

July – August 2022: €100 per night for two people sharing

September 2022: €95 per night for two people sharing

Rest of year: €90 per night for two people sharing.

children under 12 €25 per child, under 2’s are free.

Things are really moving along nicely now. We have 2 of 5 rooms ready to go, Shane is angling to call one of them the ‘Kerry Suite’ on account of it being green and gold! (Up the Kingdom) (He made me write that!)

Hello all!

For the last few weeks we have been working on renovating the café and B+B and it’s all go!! We have stripped paint off walls (hopefully we’ll put it back!) and moved copious amounts of furniture to find the set up we are happiest with and are really looking forward to sharing all of this with our customers.

We hope to open the café and B+B on Thursday 12 – March and very much look forward to our new venture in beautiful Roundstone, Connemara. Stay posted for updates or call us for a chat.
