Roundstone Connemara Pony, Dog & Sheep Show

12th July 2015

The 10th Annual Roundstone Connemara Pony, Dog & Sheep Show takes place in mid-July, 2015, at the Showground. The main event, the Connemara Pony Show, consists of 20 in-hand classes showcasing all ages and varieties of Connemara Pony. A Dog Show and Sheep Show are also included in the day’s events. A great day out is assured for competitors and spectators alike. The deadline for entry is late June.

Roundstone Bay 8K

Saturday 27th June 2015

The race takes in some of the most breathtaking scenery on the west coast of Ireland, and follows a figure of 8 loop beginning and ending in Roundstone Village.

The course will be officially measured and chip timing will be provided for all participants. Refreshments will also be made available on the day.
Start Time for the race is 12.30pm on Saturday 27th June 2015.

Roundstone Bay 8K is also proud to support our local RNLI Lifeboat service and we would hugely appreciate it if runners could endeavour to do some small bit of fundraising for this very worthwhile cause if at all possible. Barring that, please donate as little €5 on the day when picking up your race pack, but feel free to be as generous as you like!
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
1st, 2nd and 3rd Male Overall
1st, 2nd and 3rd Female Overall
1st Male Over 40, Over 50 and Over 60
1st Female Over 40, Over 50 and Over 60
Top GAA team (First 4 runners times from each club will score)
In addition, this years race theme is “Retro Running” and there will be a prize for the best outfit that participates in the race. Think headbands, big hair, tight tops, ’tashes (for the men only of course!), and bright bright colours. Let your imagination run loose.

Leenane Mountain Walking Festival

1st – 3rd May

This great festival has been designed to suit all levels of walkers from casual low level walks to the more experienced! Each day there is a choice of at least 3 walks from Strenuous to low level. This year the programme includes the firm favourite Mweelrea as well as the devils Mother and the Sheeffry Hills. Michael Gibbons is back by popular demand with another fascinating archeological walk.

Féile Traidphicnic Festival

03 – 05 July 2015

The fourth Traidphicnic Festival brings something for all to experience in the Gaeltacht village of An Spidéal with traditional music, dance & arts in a bi-lingual setting.

Enjoy the best of traditional music, along with a few songs, steps and more in the scenic seaside setting of An Spidéal, just 20 minutes west of Galway city on the Wild Atlantic Way. Gigs are run on a ‘donate what you can’ basis.

Clifden Arts Festival

17-27 September, 2015

The longest running community arts festival in Ireland, Clifden Community Arts Festival, now heading into its 38th year will take place from September 17-27 and yet again promises to have something to excite everyone in the 2015 programme.

Audiences can expect a very high quality artistic programme with a superb literary, musical and visual art content which again will have the community arts of Clifden and the surrounding hinterland as a central focus with creative writing, music, theatre and film workshops and performances taking place in the local schools for the duration of the festival. Clifden Arts Festival opens on with a special segment for secondary school students.

Connemara Mussel Festival
